Challenge:
At this residence the house and pool area were in the midst of being constructed when we were brought in to create a landscape plan. The challenge was creating a design that flowed with the current plans for the pool, poolhouse and residence. The pool was already being dug and took up a large portion of the backyard’s most usable space; rock had also already been selected to be used for a water feature and garden interest making the design process more challenging as each boulder had to be inventoried, categorized and incorporated into the final landscape plan.

Solution:
  • Poured coloured concrete used for the pool deck so smaller boulders could be set right in the conrete softening the edge of the patio
  • Water feature a major focal point at back of property with adjacent tranquil sitting area
  • Tropical themed planting to create more of a backyard retreat atmosphere
  • All selected boulders used in a aesthetically pleasing way

Displaying focal point water feature viewed from the sitting area.   Stamped concrete patio, sitting area, arbour, water feature and tropical plantings.   Mortared basalt wallstone steps with random bluestone as the treads.
